Death benefits (industrial accident)

If your next of kin dies as a result of an industrial accident or occupational disease, you are entitled to death benefits, in addition to the reimbursement of certain funeral expenses. If the deceased had no dependants, the father and mother are entitled to the benefits. The amounts are paid as a pension or as a lump sum, depending on the situation. Application must be made within six months after the death.

Eligible persons :

  • spouses;
  • minor children;
  • children of full age who are under 25, full-time students or disabled;
  • any other person living wholly or partly on the deceased worker’s income.
